At last I have replaced my old worn out accordion with a brand new Stephanelli. Not an expensive model but a good workhorse and value for money. Accordions are not like other instruments (e.g. guitars and violins) and do not respond well to the aging process - a bit like people I suppose! No longer will I find a cold blast of air when playing the C key, or have to press the E note to close the bellows due to tired out old reeds.
I'm sure 'real' accordion players would laugh at my basic grasp of the instrument, but its amazing what you can do with this under rated piece of kit, even at a basic level.
We are going into a recording studio tomorrow and I'm going to work the accordion on a song called 'The Calm Before the Storm'. We'll see how it goes.
